گلگت( بادشمال) کے گاوں عطا آباد میں لینڈ سلائنڈنگ سے بنے والی جھیل میں پانی کی سطح 273 فٹ تک بلند ہوگئ ہے. جھیل میں پانی کی
آمد 1734 کیوسک روزانہ جبکہ اخراج صرف 12 کیوسک ہے جس کے باعث جھیل کا بند کسی بھی وقت ٹوٹ سکتا ہے ہفتے کے روز نیشنل ڈیزاسٹر منیجمنٹ اتھارٹی کی جانب سے جاری کردہ اعداد وشمار کے مطابق عظاآباد کاؤں میں بنے والی جھیل میں پانی کی سطح بلند ہو چکی ہے این ڈی اے کے مطابق جھیل کا بند ٹوٹنے کی صورت میں ہر قسم کے ہنگامی حالات سے نمٹنے کی تیاری مکمل کرلی گئ ہے اور زیریں علاقوں کو فوری طور پر خالی کرانے کا منصوبہ بھی تیار کیا گیا ہے

An urgent suggestion to avert disaster!
I can’t undestand why our government is getting ready to let the ‘disater happen’ why donot they try to avert any kind of disaster. Uptill now governemnt has neither allowed foriegn technical assitantce nor allowed NGOs such as AKDN to directly work. Nor they have asked local technical experts adn intellectuals to come up with suggestions. Few WFOs excavator alone are not contextually enough. I have a technical suggestion which is not too late and there is no harm in trying it out. I am sure it will work to avert the situation and give a longer time to work out other options. I’ll request all those concerned who are really willing to contribute in averting any disaster, please contact me. I can give a presentation as well. Behold that any kind of outbrust of the lake will not be a disaster for only Hunda, it can engulf the whole KKH and the villages alongside it. We are with our brothers and sisters of Hunza.
